Attacks on Election Integrity

President Trump called to “nationalize” elections, demanding federal intervention in state and local election administration for all races. His rhetoric is “a calculated effort to dismantle the integrity of the election system.”
LWV issued a statement responding to reports that the Administration is preparing an executive order to impose federal control over elections.
The US Department of Justice appeared to target a local election office (Ulster County, NY), requesting that they submit documentation to federal authorities.

Anti-Voter Legislation

The US House passed the SAVE America Act as part of a coordinated effort to make voting harder for Americans under the guise of “election security.”
A state court ruled in favor of the LWV of AR in a case challenging legislation that impaired the rights of Arkansans participating in the initiative and referendum process.
The state Leagues of OH and UT took federal legal action pushing back on an anti-voter documentary proof of citizenship law and defending a fair congressional map, respectively.
