While the “For the People Act,” the most comprehensive voting rights legislation of a generation, awaits its fate in Congress, more than 250 bills have been introduced in state legislatures across the county restricting access to the ballot. The lines have been drawn. The tug-of-war—between those determined to tighten restrictions on voting and those equally determined to ease them—is on.
